A Mission that works for the people who built it

Ruben Plata has spent his life within a few miles of the water tower on Conway. He grew up here, raised his family here, and built a career serving the same neighbors he sat beside in school.

He has spent years in and around city hall — in council chambers, in budget workshops, and at the front counter where residents show up with a problem and hope somebody listens. What he learned there is simple: most of what people need from their city is not complicated. Drainage that holds. Streets that get finished. Permits that do not take a year. A phone that somebody answers.

He is running for Mayor because Mission is growing fast, and growth without a plan costs families more than it gives them. He believes this city can grow and still feel like home.
